With over 30 years of industry and academic leadership, Prof. Smith has driven innovation across the energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. He holds 12 patents, has authored 80+ papers, and contributed to landmark publications like Perry’s Chemical Engineering Handbook and the John Zink Combustion Handbook.
As founder of Elevated Analytics and Endowed Energy Chair at Missouri S&T, he has pioneered hybrid energy systems and led cutting-edge research in clean energy and microgrid technology.
