A globally renowned expert in catalysis, Prof. Zhang is best known for coining the concept of Single-Atom Catalysis in 2011 — now one of the most cutting-edge frontiers in chemistry. His work bridges fundamental research and real-world application, including the breakthrough catalytic conversion of cellulose to ethylene glycol, now piloted at 1000 tons/year.

With over 600 publications, 110 patents, and a H-index of 125, Prof. Zhang’s influence spans science and industry. His talk, "𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲-𝗔𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴", will explore the evolution, mechanisms, and future challenges of SACs — a must-attend for researchers and innovators alike.
